Changing Market Conditions
We decided to convert to the Jellystone Park system in 1996 because the market conditions were changing. Several of our colleagues had converted and grown in the process. We found that by changing our customer base to families, rather than seniors, we expanded.
The advantage of a Jellystone Park is that it is so much more alive than the average park. Plus, campers view it as a high quality facility. When they see the name "Jellystone" they know it's going to be a notch up in quality and that it's family-friendly.
When we converted, we were a little concerned about losing control. However, the LSI staff was very easy to work with, both accommodating and helpful. If you have a problem, just give them a call and they are right there to help solve it. They really listen to you — your concerns are their concerns.
Now we are seeing a big influx of baby-boomers’ children taking their children camping; and the Jellystone Park system is perfect to accommodate this growing demographic. We see joy on the faces of not only the children, but the parents too, when they interact with Yogi Bear. It’s priceless!
