There are six Jellystone Parks in eastern Canada, including parks in New Brunswick, Newfoundland, Nova Scotia, Ontario and Prince Edward Island
But the family friendly campground network has many more activities and themed weekends planned throughout the summer months, including chocolate themed weeks and weekends, pet themed weekends, and weekends with Christmas and Halloween themed activities.
“Our Canadian campgrounds offer everything from chocolate Slip N Slides to Christmas in July festivities with Yuletide Karaoke contests to pre-Halloween themed weekends that start in August with campsite decorating contests and trick or treating,” said Kelly Jones, vice president of operations for Milford, Ohio-based Leisure Systems Inc., which franchises Jellystone Parks across Canada and the United States.
Following is a sampling of activities planned at the six Jellystone Parks in eastern Canada during the next three months:
Chocolate Themed Activities
— Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island, Aug. 10-12: Activities include a candy counting contest, chocolate crafts and games, a scavenger hunt, candy bar bingo and a chocolate Slip ’N Slide. www.jellystonepei.com
— Bradford, Ontario, July 20-22: This is a Valentine sweetheart weekend with a heart hunt, a chocolate Slip ’N Slide and a Saturday night dance. www.jellystonetoronto.com
— Borden-Carleton, Prince Edward Island, Aug. 24-26: Activities this weekend include a dog fashion show and talent contest and visitors from Benny Trails Pet Ranch. Guests will have a chance to hold a snake and have a photo taken. www.jellystonepei.com
— Pouch Pond, Newfoundland, July 9-12: This park will have mid-week chocolate activities, including candy bar bingo, chocolate crafts and ice cream sundae making. Campers will also join together to make an orange chocolate cake. www.marineparknl.com
