The Scottsburg campground offers Halloween themed weekend activities as well as a haunted house every weekend through Oct. 23
Erik Leander and Kari Strohmeyer purchased the 30-acre, 91-site park from Ted and Jo Stazak, who had previously owned and operated the 91-site campground for 18 years.
“This has just always been a dream of mine, to own and manage a campground,” said Leander, 42, who previously managed the Hickory Hill Campground in Spencer, Ind. for about a year and a half.
“Kari is new to camping, but she decided to join me on this adventure,” Leander said.
Both Leander and Strohmeyer like the brand appeal of having a Jellystone Park as well as its focus on providing organized family activities and themed weekends with Yogi Bear, which help families create unique memories. Activities include arts and crafts, scavenger hunts, and face painting, as well as evening campfires and tuck-ins with the bears.
Halloween themed weekends are scheduled for the next three weekends and will include a haunted house.
The Jellystone Park at Raintree Lake also has numerous onsite amenities, including a swimming pool, a miniature golf course, a nine-acre fishing lake with boat rentals as well as basketball and sand volleyball courts and horseshoe pits.
